Finding the right replacement gasket is easier when you have the right measurements. Two gaskets can look almost identical but still have different dimensions or profiles. Before ordering, check the machine model, gasket size, and gasket shape.

1. Measure OD, ID, and Thickness

Start with three basic measurements:

  • OD — Outer Diameter

  • ID — Inner Diameter

  • Thickness

A digital caliper works best. Measure across the widest points and record everything in millimeters.

Quick Tip: An old gasket may be compressed or worn, so its current thickness may not be exactly the same as the original specification. That’s why measurements should always be checked together with the machine model.

2. Check the Gasket Profile

Size is only part of the story. Gaskets can have different cross-section shapes, including:

  • Flat

  • Beveled

  • Stepped / Lipped

Two gaskets may have similar OD, ID, and thickness but still fit differently because of the profile.

If possible, take a clear side-view photo of the old gasket.

3. Don’t Rely on the Machine Brand Alone

Knowing the brand helps, but the exact machine model is much more useful. Different models — and sometimes different versions of the same machine — may use different gasket specifications. For a better compatibility check, collect:

  • Machine Model + OD + ID + Thickness + Profile / Photo

The more information you provide, the lower the chance of ordering the wrong part.

Before Ordering, Check These 4 Things

  • Machine model

  • OD / ID / thickness

  • Gasket profile

  • Clear photos if available

Note: If the old gasket is heavily worn or damaged, measurements alone may not tell the whole story.
